Bouncy Chair

19 x 32. Colored pencil and acrylic paint on wood. I'm experimenting with different ways to create these drawings. I still need to varnish this. I think my next one will be on a black panel and probably start getting larger.

Doodles

Soo...I haven't done any 2-d work in a long time and I've been having the urge to do some illustrations of my bizarre project ideas. Here is this first one. My portable nesting egg. Colored pencil on watercolor paper.

News Update

Soo...I recently put a proposal together for a public gathering place made up of hanging, nest-like lounge chairs patched together with old discarded fabrics donated by the community. In fact my one concept sketch a few posts back is an image of what the nests might look like. Well the project was chosen for the social change scholarship and I will soon begin work on it! Currently I'm working on finalizing a location for the project. Keep checking in...I'll be documenting and posting the whole process!

Cheers!

A Collection of Objects

I had the chance to curate a small undergrad sculpture show. Thank you to all the students that participated!

A Collection of Objects:

This seemingly random collection of objects has one consistent thread among them: I asked each student to share with me a work that went beyond “just a project.” Each object is a symbolic artifact that represents the student as an artist and gives the viewer a glimpse into their personality and thought process. These artifacts are an extension of who their makers are as a person. From interests in what it means to be a woman and issues pertaining to sexual identity, to love for horror, written text and everything in between. What drives an artist to create the work they make is always of interest and fascination.

Wearable Furniture

With this lovely creation I can take my dining set with me anywhere I go!

My Little Science Experiment

I played mad scientist recently to see if I could get grass to grow in upholstery foam. As you can see...it actually worked! Expect future works utilizing this scientific marvel!

Concept Sketches

A look to the future maybe?

Portable Nesting Egg (Model)

This is a model I made for a portable environment I plan to create. This model is currently being displayed in an international touring exhibit of miniatures. It was displayed in the Commons Gallery in Towson, MD and is now on its way to Taiwan. After that the show will travel to the University of Delaware back in the states. The show will end back in Towson at the Asian Arts Gallery on Towson University's campus.
