PLEASE HELP!!

A big project is in the works for this summer and I need all the help I can get. Any donation will be greatly appreciated!! Every dollar helps! Thank you!! Click here to lend your support to: Help give a voice to undiscovered american artists!! and make a donation at www.pledgie.com !

Abstract:
Contemporary visual art is arguably the most exciting time in art history’s time line. The parameters in which we as artists work have exploded open to the widest range of materials, processes, and concepts ever known, blurring every pre-conceived line along the way, and in turn opening the world of art making to a much larger range of individuals from extremely varying backgrounds. As a young artist early in my career, I find myself wondering: for every well established artist I have studied and admired in my artistic evolution thus far, how many more unknown artists like myself are out across this country working in their own art community, trying to make a name for themselves and get their message heard?

What I am proposing is an artistically motivated road-trip across the country to seek out and rediscover our contemporary American art culture. To interview and find inspiration from other artists currently working in their part of the country whom otherwise we might never have heard from. To become an archeologist of unknown art, mapping our American landscape along the way. This entire journey will be filmed, documented, and shared through presentations, screenings, and an online blog so that young artists across the country may find inspiration in observing how other artists like themselves live, work, and face the challenges of achieving their artistic visions.

UPDATE on Nesting Environment...

I am finally starting to get somewhere with this project. Weds morning I have a meeting with the Better Waverly Arts Center to discuss my proposal further and sight out different possible locations for the installation. This picture is a model I made to help everyone better visualize. I'm hoping I could just hang these nests from trees and not have to build a free-standing support system.

Also: if anyone has old clothes or random scraps of fabric that you are willing to donate to the project, I would greatly appreciate it!

UPDATE

For those that have taken a picture in the lounger located outside the MFA Gallery in the Center for the Arts on Towson's Campus...I am going to develop the pictures tonight and will post them ASAP. A few people have asked about it and are anxious to see themselves. Keep checking in! I promise I will have them up soon!

More Bean Bag Fun

The girl above volunteered to take this picture with me and try out my "outfit for two" and was quite excited about it. She even had her friend take a picture with her phone so she could have a copy. I'll probably be on some random person's facebook by tonight. Anyway we were taking these pictures and all of a sudden she had a thought. She turned to me and said...and I quote: "WAIT! ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BE A PENIS!?"

On that note...I will call this performance a success!

Portable Back Yard Picnic

I started experimenting with this in my trunk a few months ago...but then winter snuck up on me. I will be revisiting this project soon.
